Purespace Design - Green and Sustainable Hospitality Interiors
Purespace Design is a full-service Interior Design Company dedicated to creating well designed, sustainable interiors.
As part of our commitment to sustainability within our Company, we have partnered up with Naturelle Beds as the focal point of our bedroom and hospitality interiors. As we spend numerous hours per night sleeping, it is imperative that the mattress that we sleep on is a well-made one and beneficial to our health. Well-made hugely depends on the materials used in the mattress. A Naturelle mattress is made up 100% certified organic latex & pure wool and no fossil fuels have been used in the mattresses contents, either virgin or recycled. Natural latex is an inherently fire resistant material due to its high water content and molecular structure. Wool is also naturally flame retardant and an excellent regulator of temperature. The fabric used on the mattresses are certified natural. The latex used carries the GOLS Standard (Global Organic Latex Standard).
Our headboards, in addition are manufactured using the same specification of latex, Spruce Ply for the backing boards instead of chipboard, wool instead of Dacron & hemp fabric as an option. Our upholstered beds are manufactured using the same materials as our headboards and can be custom made.
Our sheets and pillow cases are manufactured from linen with the pillow inners from certified organic latex and wool outer covers.
Purespace Design is also specifying BOEN Engineered flooring for our wall cladding and flooring. BOEN is a pre-finished engineered plank made up of 2-layer, 3-layer and solid parquet. The multi-layer parquet consists of a thin hardwood top layer and a thicker base layer of birch/spruce/fir/pine wood or HDF panel. BOEN uses bonding and only 120 g of adhesive per square metre of product, and of their products consist almost entirely of naturally grown wood. For surface treatment, an average of only 75 grams of lacquer or oil is used. This means that, depending on the specific product and its density, the parquet contains around 98% wood. This makes it the most ecologically sustainable type of flooring on the market. Another advantage of parquet is its longevity and suitability for repairs. Re-oiling it, sanding it or replacing its damaged components makes it possible to easily exceed its official service life of at least 25 years.
Purespace Design will continue to develop its own range of products and interiors in addition to collaborating with its Suppliers in our aim to be as creative and sustainable as possible.
