Slow Food AGM and Conference
26 May 2016 - Randburg, Gauteng
Dr Naude Malan spoke to us at Slow Food AGM - pioneering small scale farming and helping people grow their own food and also make a living. Please consider joining Slow Food in your city. We are doing wonderful work with the "10,000 Gardens in Africa" projects, "Ark of Taste", which is an international initiative to identify and protect threatened indigenous or uniquely regional plants, recipes, cheeses, etc., and to support small scale food producers everywhere. Recently the executives of Slow Food International came out from Italy to South Africa to consolidate all our regions and the chapters under a national umbrella. One of our events was in Haenertsburg where we were treated to a banquet of regional and indigenous foods; GMO free pap, samp, oxtail, tripe, 3 types of wild spinach, grasshoppers, wild mushrooms and more!
