"Stop Smacking the Snooze Button" at Professional Speakers Association
I gave a really hard-hitting talk to fellow professional speakers at a chapter meeting.
Speakers meet decision-makers everywhere they work: conference and event organisers, hotel and restaurant managers, caterers, transport providers and, of course, the clients who book them to speak - huge corporations and manufacturers and sometimes the biggest greenhouse gas emitters and abusers of natural resources.
Speakers have a perfect opportunity to influence, encourage or simply plant little seeds on how to make better choices for all these sectors. Or, invite one of us to train or run workshops to show how simple it can actually be.
My talk was not fun; not my usual light-hearted style. It was to the point, tough and motivational.
