Company Profile :

Local company JessenDakile enables South Africans living with a mobility impairment to achieve the kind of freedom, mobility and independence that are frequently taken for granted in other parts of the world.

JessenDakile brings best practice solutions from Europe to South Africa, entering a market that has, until now, offered few options to encourage independent development and the inclusion of people with impairments in community life.

More than 2 million South Africans live with an impairment. About 30%, or 700 000, have a mobility impairment. For most, their congenital or acquired condition prevents them from enjoying an independent lifestyle and the dignity that springs from self-sufficiency.

South Africa, like many nations, has adopted legislation that directs employers and the owners of public institutions and venues to facilitate access to buildings for people with mobility impairments and to ensure they have the use of essential amenities. This is particularly critical for institutions that provide rehabilitative care and health services to people with impairments.

Hospitality Experience :

The solutions identified by JessenDakile are practical and user-friendly.

They can be applied in public buildings as well as in private homes, and comprise:

  • A wide range of fixed and mobile lifting and handling equipment.
  • Various types of ramps that afford easy movement in and out of buildings, aircraft and trains.
  • Custom-designed bathrooms that make it possible for many mobility impaired persons to take full charge of their personal hygiene.
