FAST & NATURAL REGENERATION
Bamboo is an extraordinary plant which not only grows to full maturity in 5 years, but is self regenerating, and grows without the need for harmful fertilizers or pesticides. It is one of the fasting growing plants in the world and some species can grow as much as 18 inches in a day and reach a height of 100 feet.
Minimum wastage
Bamboo is such a valued commodity in China that all parts are used in the production process and there is virtually no wastage. Even the sawdust occurring during the cutting of the flooring planks, is stored and used to power generators at our finishing plant.
REDUCING GLOBAL WARMING
Bamboo plantations have thick leafy canopies which soak up more carbon dioxide and generate more oxygen than an equivalent stand of trees. This makes it a necessary and vital part of our environmental crusade to reduce climate.
STRENGTH & DURABILITY
Bamboo is technically a plant not a wood and is known for it's strength. It has a compressive strength greater than concrete and a tensile strength superior to mild steel. It even has a higher strength to weight ratio than graphite. This makes it ideal for construction materials and it has been used by the majority of the world for thousands of years for buildings, bridges, even scaffolding.
STYLE BAMBOO
Style uses only Moso bamboo (Phyllostachys pubescens) which predominantly grows in Zhejiang, China and is known for it's dense fibres. We rigorously inspect all of our bamboo material and ensure it has been harvested in a responsible manner on reaching maturity at 5+ plus years. Bamboo harvested earlier, despite being cheaper in price, can result in performance issues such as cupping and warping. With Style, you can be sure you are purchasing premium quality and sustainable bamboo flooring.
