Lowther Technologies was initially founded by Paul Lowther in 1990 to fulfill the service gap in the computer market during those years.
Very soon they became a preferred supplier of custom made PC's for, amongst others, Eskom South Africa.
During 1995 the company made a decision to expand their operations to include the sourcing and distribution of Audio Visual equipment. Video Conferencing became their alternative communication medium and this allowed them, in a joint venture with Telkom ISDN, to assist with Technology Centres. Through this association Remote Video Enabled Call Centres saw the light for the first time.
This groundbreaking introduction of new technologies made Lowther Technologies very successful resulting in their acquisition by Accord Technologies LTD, a JSE listed group, in 1998.The following year they got appointed to the ISDN Forum Board of South Africa.

MOBILE BOARD ROOM
Thanks to our Innovative approach to business, we also entered the exhibition industry and very soon became a major player, offering Value Added Solutions other than the ordinary hiring of electronic equipment. Experiential and interactivity became our field of expertise with the introduction of newly designed product solutions never seen before such as the Mobile Big Screen Trailers as well as The WOW Station - THE WORLD'S 1ST MOBILE BOARDROOM.
In 2001, management decided to acquire the company back from Accord and soon after became members of the Midrand Business Chamber as well as EXSA. An in-house Design Studio capable of any design and development to satisfy all customer ideas and demands started during 2002.
Adding to this exciting new expansion comes the Advertising screens in shopping centres, allowing the company to create and design adverts for any customer according to their specifications and then to show their advert to a captive audience at the most cost effective rates ever in the history of visual airtime.
In January 2008, Lowther Technologies became the 1st Southern African Company to Design and Implement a RADVISION MCU based Video Conferencing Solution. |
